NEWPORT — The Sacred Heart Alumni Association (SHAA) has awarded scholarships to four local college students, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to supporting higher education in the community.
Charli Kellaway of Derby, a North Country Union High School (NCUHS) graduate now attending Smith College in Massachusetts, was presented her award in person. Kellaway is pursuing studies in Political Science and Pre-Law.
Three other NCUHS graduates also received scholarships, though they were unable to attend the presentation. Natalie Holmes, in her second year at the University of New Hampshire, is studying History and Pre-Law. Jordan Beloin is attending SUNY, majoring in Culinary Arts, while Bryce Gunn, a senior at Norwich University, is studying Civil Engineering.
The awards were presented by SHAA officials including Madeleine Roy, Secretary; Rosemary Hall, Vice-President; and Linda Lawson, Director. A photograph of the presentation captured Kellaway with the SHAA representatives.
SHAA expressed its satisfaction in being able to assist these students in their pursuit of higher education and future careers. This gesture reinforces the association’s role in fostering academic excellence among local youth, providing financial support to help them achieve their educational goals.
