FAIR HAVEN –– The Fair Haven Slaters scored three touchdowns in the second quarter enroute to a 34-6 victory over visiting North Country last Friday night.

North Country jumped to a first quarter 6-0 lead on their opening drive. Falcon quarterback Hayden Boivin hit a streaking Jason Pellitier from 33 yards out and the Falcon’s claimed first blood leading 6-0. The North Country defense saw the Kyhill brothers do the heavy lifting for the Slaters.

Sophomore Sam Kyhill and big brother senior Max Kyhill went to work early in the second frame. Max scored from 2 yards out to complete a long scoring drive. Slater quarterback Cody Adams threw a scoring pass to senior Jack Aimeida from 43 yards out. After an exchange of punts Max Kyhill added a 7 yard dash to the end zone and FH led at the half 20-6.

There was no scoring in the third as the Falcon defense, behind sophomore lineman Trevor Sanville and senior linebacker Jacob Ashman, stiffened, holding the Slaters at bay. Fair Haven iced the contest midway through the fourth quarter on a 13 yard scamper by Sam Kyhill and another TD pass from Adams to Almeida, this time from 23 yards out to complete the evenings scoring 34-6.

The Falcons, now 0-2, go on the road again this Friday as they head to Bellows Falls to take on the Terriers. Pre Game starts at 6:45 p.m. on the Northeast Sports Network.
