ST. JOHNSBURY — Two Lyndonville residents were taken into custody at a Maplefields gas station on US Route 2 after police discovered one slumped over the wheel and another wanted on drug charges, police said.

Andrew Young, 36, and Angelica Clark, 29, were arrested early Monday morning when officers responded to a call at about 8:24 a.m. regarding a person unresponsive at the wheel.

Upon arrival, police found Clark at the gas pump and processed her for DUI-Drug.

Young, the passenger, was identified and found to have an outstanding warrant from New Hampshire for possession of crack cocaine.

Both Young and Clark were arrested, and their vehicle was impounded pending a search warrant.

After obtaining the warrant, officers reported finding 48 baggies of fentanyl and 5 grams of crack cocaine inside the vehicle.

Young is being held without bail at the Northeast Correctional Complex and is due in Caledonia Court on Sept. 8 for the fugitive from justice charge.

Clark was cited for the DUI and released, with a court date set for Dec. 2.

The Caledonia Court will preside over both cases.
