Southbury police seek information on hit-and-run incident

SOUTHBURY — A hit-and-run accident on the afternoon of Aug. 30 has prompted the Southbury Police Department to request public assistance in their investigation.

At approximately 4 p.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of Southford Road and Bagley Road where the collision occurred.

According to the initial investigation, a white SUV or pickup truck was traveling northbound on Southford Road when it crossed the double yellow line and sideswiped another vehicle.

The offending vehicle then fled the scene without stopping.

The Southbury Police have yet to release a description of the suspect or the vehicle beyond its color and type.

They are appealing to the community for any witnesses or individuals with information about the incident to come forward.

The department urges anyone who may have seen the incident or has any details that could lead to identifying the driver involved to contact them immediately.
