Juvenile arrested with loaded firearm in Dorchester

DORCHESTER — A 15-year-old boy was arrested on firearm charges Saturday evening after police officers, attending an event, were alerted to a disturbance involving a suspect with a gun.

The incident occurred around 6:55 p.m. near Pleasant Street and Pearl Street.

According to the Boston Police Department, officers from District C-11 were approached by an individual who reported seeing a suspect with a firearm.

Upon observing two suspects, the officers approached them, leading to their separation and attempt to leave the scene in opposite directions.

One suspect was stopped and after investigation, released without charges.

The second suspect, a 15-year-old juvenile male, refused to comply with officers’ orders to stop and resisted a pat-down search before being handcuffed.

A search ensued, and officers discovered a loaded SCCY CPX-1 pistol with one round in the chamber and seven rounds in the magazine concealed in a fanny pack.

The juvenile was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, and unlawful possession of ammunition.

He is scheduled to be arraigned at Dorchester District Court.
