GROTON — Vermont State Police arrested a 36-year-old Groton man, Brandon Lackie, on Sept. 7 after he allegedly committed multiple violations including being a fugitive from justice.

Authorities reported that on Sept. 2 at around 8:43 p.m., they were called to a residence in Groton for a dispute.

The investigation revealed that Lackie had violated a court-issued abuse prevention order, breached conditions of his release, and committed unlawful mischief by damaging a vehicle belonging to Nathaniel Ricker, 50, of Topsham.

Additionally, Lackie was found to have an outstanding extraditable arrest warrant from New Hampshire, where he is charged with operating a motor vehicle as a habitual offender, a Class B Felony.

Lackie had fled the scene prior to the arrival of the troopers on Sept. 2 and could not be located.

However, on Sept. 7, at approximately 6:45 p.m., Lackie was found at his residence in Groton and taken into custody.

He was held without bail pending further legal proceedings.

The Vermont State Police have not disclosed the names of victims of sexual assault or domestic violence in connection with this case.
