WILLIAMSBURG — Williamsburg Police Department officials announced the discovery of a credit card skimming device at the Cumberland Farms convenience store on Thursday.
Authorities are urging anyone who used a debit or credit card at the store’s registers within the past 24 hours to contact their bank immediately due to potential compromise of their banking information.
The police are asking the public to share this information widely.
Customers who notice any unauthorized or suspicious transactions on their accounts are advised to report the fraudulent activity to the Williamsburg Police Department as soon as possible.
The investigation into the skimming incident is ongoing, and police are working to identify the individuals responsible for placing the device.
