NORTH PROVIDENCE — In a series of coordinated arrests early Friday morning, law enforcement officials apprehended multiple individuals on drug-related charges and for parole violation.
At around 5:15 a.m., Jason Jones, 40, was arrested at his residence on 179/181 Woodbine Street, Pawtucket, by members of the HIDTA Task Force and VFTF Task Force.
Jones is charged with possession with the intent to deliver psilocybin mushrooms.
The arrest followed the execution of a search warrant at the end of a narcotics investigation.
Jones was processed at the Lincoln Barracks and arraigned at the 6th District Court.
Simultaneously, Derrick Anaya, 34, also residing at 179/181 Woodbine Street, Pawtucket, was taken into custody on charges of possessing 1kg to 5kg of marijuana, with the intent to deliver marijuana, and possession of cocaine.
Anaya’s arrest was likewise the result of executing a search warrant after a narcotics investigation.
He was arraigned at the same district court following processing at the Lincoln Barracks.
Later that morning, at approximately 9:00 a.m., Joseph Lancia, 33, of Smithfield, was arrested by the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force and Lincoln Woods Barracks officers in Cranston.
Lancia faced a parole violation warrant for the original charge of felony assault with a firearm.
He was apprehended without incident and subsequently handed over to the Adult Correctional Institutions Intake Services Center.
In a separate incident in Lincoln, the Gaming Enforcement Unit arrested Joseph Vale, 76, from Westport, MA, on a misdemeanor count of simple assault.
Vale was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and released pending a future Third District Court date.
