PROVIDENCE — State Police at Lincoln Woods Barracks conducted a series of arrests, including charges for driving under the influence and obstructing police officers.
At 9 a.m., troopers arrested Cameron Johnson, 39, of Providence, Rhode Island, for duty to stop after an accident resulting in damage to an attended vehicle and obstructing a police officer in the execution of duty.
Johnson turned himself in at the Sixth Division District Court following a barracks investigation.
Later in the day, at 5:07 p.m., Edwin Blanco Cruz, 20, also of Providence, was taken into custody after a motor vehicle accident investigation.
Cruz faced charges of obstructing a police officer in the execution of duty, as well as two Third District Court bench warrants for failure to appear for technical violations on original charges of domestic simple assault and obstruction.
He was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned, and transported to the Adult Correctional Institution – Men’s Intake Center.
At 10:27 p.m., Miguel O. Macario Garcia, 28, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, was arrested for forgery and counterfeiting of registration plates and giving a false document to a public official.
The arrest followed a vehicle stop on Branch Avenue in Providence.
Garcia was processed, arraigned, and released with a notice to appear in court.
Early the next morning, at 1:28 a.m., Jorge L. Vega Rosado, 58, of North Providence, was arrested for driving under the influence of liquor and refusal to submit to a chemical test, both first offenses.
The arrest occurred after a motor vehicle stop on Union Avenue in Providence.
Vega Rosado was processed and released into the custody of a responsible adult with a notice to appear in court.
Additionally, at 5:45 a.m., Robert Whitford, 42, of Wakefield, Rhode Island, was arrested for driving under the influence of liquor and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
Whitford’s arrest came after troopers responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 146 in Providence.
He was processed, arraigned, and released into the custody of a responsible adult.
