Rhode Island State Police make multiple arrests in one day

SCITUATE — Rhode Island State Police had a busy Friday, September 6, with a series of arrests ranging from shoplifting to violating a no contact order.

Troopers started the day at the Rhode Island Traffic Tribunal at 10:25 a.m., where they arrested Eric Martin, 46, of Warwick, on a warrant for shoplifting charges from the Coventry Police Department.

Martin was processed at the State Police – Scituate Barracks and later handed over to Coventry authorities.

Later that afternoon at 12:30 p.m., Stephen Maclellan, 26, of North Attleboro, Massachusetts, turned himself in at the Scituate Barracks on a warrant for leaving the scene of an accident with damage to an attended vehicle.

Maclellan’s surrender was the culmination of an investigation by the Scituate Barracks.

After processing, he was transported to the Third Division District Court.

At 4:06 p.m., following a vehicle stop on Academy Avenue in Providence, Milson Alvarez Reyes, 38, of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, was arrested on multiple charges, including identity fraud and obstructing an officer.

Reyes was processed at the Scituate Barracks, arraigned, and released with a date to appear in court.

The evening brought the arrest of Luis Hernandez, 36, of Pawtucket, at 11:00 p.m. for a fourth-offense violation of a no contact order.

The arrest occurred after a vehicle stop on Harris Avenue in Providence.

Hernandez was held overnight at the Scituate Barracks pending arraignment as a bail and probation violator.

Shortly after midnight on Saturday, September 7, Erwin Jimenez Ramirez, 20, of Providence, was stopped on Westminster Street and arrested for driving under the influence and refusing a chemical test.

He was processed at the Scituate Barracks and released to a responsible adult.
