Mt Tabor residence burglarized, thousands in cash and firearm stolen

MT TABOR — Troopers from the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks are investigating a burglary that took place between 1 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Sept. 5 at a home on 959 US Route 7.

The victim, identified as Brian Siegal, 58, of Mt Tabor, reported the incident shortly before 10:52 p.m. the same day.

Authorities say that the burglars forced their way into Siegal’s residence through a front window, resulting in about $100 worth of damage.

The perpetrators made off with roughly $3,000 in cash and a Smith and Wesson .38 revolver from Siegal’s property.

Police are actively seeking information on the burglary and are asking for the public’s assistance.
