WINDSOR LOCKS — A series of police operations have led to multiple arrests and the discovery of narcotics at two local inns, authorities reported.
The Windsor Locks Police Department (WLPD) responded to a robbery at the Bradley Inn on Aug. 31, where a machete and a facsimile firearm were reportedly used.
Following the incident, arrests were made, which the department detailed in an earlier post.
In a separate but related incident on Sept. 5, the WLPD, in collaboration with the Department of Children’s and Families, removed a child from a room at the Ramada Inn.
The child was found to have fentanyl and methamphetamines in their system.
This discovery led to an immediate police response, with officers obtaining and executing a search warrant for the room on the same day.
Suspected narcotics were found and are pending laboratory testing due to the dangers associated with handling fentanyl.
The room, described as being in deplorable condition, prompted a response from the Windsor Locks Building Inspector, who took enforcement action within their jurisdiction.
The police have initiated an investigation, which remains open, and further action is expected.
On the same day, the WLPD conducted an undercover operation at the Bradley Inn, in conjunction with local, state, and federal authorities.
Several individuals with suspected criminal involvement were contacted.
Among those arrested was Montaser Hussein, 33, from East Windsor, for possession of a controlled substance and intent to sell, along with two outstanding warrants for failure to appear in court.
Tim Walter, 63, from Marlborough, was charged with possession of a controlled substance-narcotics.
Additionally, Michael Blackman, 53, from East Hartford, was charged with driving under the influence.
The Bradley Inn has been a focal point for law enforcement due to persistent criminal activity and numerous calls for service.
Approximately a year ago, a similar police effort resulted in numerous arrests and enforcement actions.
Investigations linked to this location are ongoing and active, as the WLPD continues to address the criminal activities in the area.
