RUTLAND — A two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Business Route 4, VT Route 3, and Old Falls Road resulted in one driver being hospitalized on Sept. 6.

At 10:03 a.m., Vermont State Police responded to the scene where 63-year-old Shari Battease of Clarendon was identified as the operator of the first vehicle, a 2020 Chevrolet Trax, which suffered substantial front-end damage.

Battease, who was wearing her seatbelt, reported minor injuries and was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center by the Regional Ambulance Service.

The second vehicle, a 2014 Mercedes C30 driven by 73-year-old Kathy Conners of Proctor, sustained front-end damage.

Conners was also wearing her seatbelt and did not report any injuries.

The crash occurred when Battease, traveling eastbound on Business Route 4, failed to stop for a red light at the intersection, striking the front end of Conners’ vehicle, which was traveling southeast off from VT Route 3.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Rutland Town Fire Department.

Battease’s vehicle was towed from the scene by Howe Center Auto.

The road conditions were dry, and the weather was clear at the time of the accident.
