WOODSTOCK — The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run incident that occurred on Route 26 near the boat launch.

The suspect vehicle is described as a dark Ford truck with a cover over the tailgate marked with “fox.” The vehicle is expected to have sustained damage to the passenger mirror and door.

Authorities were quick to clarify that the truck shown in pictures circulating on social media is that of the victim, not the suspect.

The Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with information about the incident or the whereabouts of the suspect vehicle to come forward and contact the Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation is ongoing, and no further details have been released at this time.

The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office is committed to ensuring the safety of the community and bringing the responsible party to justice.
