MAYNARD — Two individuals were arrested and charged with multiple drug and firearm offenses following a proactive investigation by the Maynard Police Department, Chief Michael Noble announced Thursday.
Bridget McGrath, 44, of Worcester, and Ronald Anderson, 44, of Holden, face a litany of charges after being apprehended by police.
McGrath’s charges include trafficking in heroin and cocaine, multiple counts of possession with intent to distribute various controlled substances, and firearms-related offenses, including possession of a firearm during a felony and carrying a firearm without a license.
Anderson faces similar charges, including subsequent offenses for possession of controlled substances and trafficking in heroin and cocaine.
The incident occurred early Thursday morning, when Detective Sgt. Trista Manchuso was performing an area check around Maynard Motors on 145 Great Road, which was closed at the time.
At approximately 1:30 a.m., Manchuso discovered a vehicle parked in the dark next to the building with two occupants inside.
Upon further investigation by Manchuso and Detective Emmanuel “Manny” Avril, drugs and drug paraphernalia were observed in plain view inside the vehicle, prompting a thorough search.
The search yielded multiple types of drugs, a stolen firearm, nearly $3,000 in cash, and additional drug paraphernalia.
Both McGrath and Anderson were taken into custody without incident and are scheduled for arraignment in Concord District Court.
