Art in Bloom event showcases floral and artistic creativity at MAC

NEWPORT — The Memphremagog Arts Collaborative (MAC) hosted its annual Art in Bloom event on July 26-27, featuring a vibrant collaboration between local artists and the Four Seasons Garden Club.

The two-day event transformed the MAC gallery into a sensory experience, combining visual art with complementary floral arrangements created by garden club members using flowers from their own gardens. The displays highlighted the intersection of nature and artistic expression, celebrating the beauty of the summer season.

An opening reception on Friday, July 26, welcomed guests with live guitar music by Ben Kinsley, wine, and a selection of hors d’oeuvres. Attendees had the opportunity to explore the gallery, taking in the unique pairings of artwork and floral designs.

The event also featured a raffle, with Lucinda Nilson winning the prize of a Strawberry Sundae Hydrangea plant.

Organizers expressed gratitude to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church for providing community space, as well as to the garden club members and MAC staff for their efforts in organizing the event.
