SOMERVILLE — Somerville police responded to several incidents over the Labor Day weekend, including assaults and an attempted robbery.
On Aug. 29 at 7:15 p.m., Somerville Housing Police responded to a report of an assault on Weston Ave.
The victim told officers he had invited a male into his apartment who then threatened him with an object.
Police identified a suspect but did not release further details.
In a separate incident on Sept. 1 at 2:36 p.m., officers responded to an attempted robbery on Elm St. A man reported that while entering his parked vehicle, he was approached by a male who motioned as if he had a weapon in his pocket and made an unclear demand.
The victim drove away unharmed.
Later that day at 3:30 p.m., police again responded to Elm St for a weapons call.
A victim reported being approached by a male who brandished a knife while the victim was riding a scooter.
The suspect fled after the victim yelled at him.
Police also reported multiple property crimes over the weekend, including four vandalisms, two package thefts, 10 car break-ins, four bike thefts, one motor vehicle vandalism, and two motor vehicle thefts.
Authorities urge residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
