CAMPTON — A single-vehicle crash in Campton on Wednesday left a 42-year-old woman with serious injuries after she was ejected from her car.

The incident occurred at 6:36 p.m. on Winterbrook Road when a 2013 Ford Mustang convertible left the roadway, struck a utility pole, and rolled approximately 65 feet into the woods, according to Campton Police.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was found suffering from severe injuries.

Neighbors who heard the crash rushed to provide aid before emergency services arrived.

A medical helicopter transported the injured woman to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center from a landing zone established at Campton Elementary School.

Her current condition is unknown.

Authorities believe speed and alcohol may have contributed to the crash.

The Campton-Thornton Fire Department, Campton Highway Department, and New Hampshire State Police assisted at the scene.

The road was closed for several hours as utility crews replaced the damaged pole and restored electricity to the area.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
