Pizza delivery driver robbed at gunpoint in Worcester

WORCESTER — A pizza delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint early Thursday morning, marking the fourth such incident in the city since mid-August, police said.

The robbery occurred around 1:18 a.m. on Lund Street when two males approached the driver and demanded money, according to Worcester Police.

One suspect brandished a firearm.

The pair fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The victim was not injured in the incident, police reported.

This robbery is the latest in a string of similar crimes targeting pizza delivery drivers in Worcester.

The first occurred on Aug. 12, with three more following over the past month.

The Worcester Police Detective Bureau is investigating the series of robberies.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
