ROCKLAND — A motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries Monday after a vehicle failed to yield and turned in front of the oncoming bike, police said.
The crash occurred around 6 p.m. on Park Street near the car wash, according to the Rockland Police Department.
Emergency responders closed the road while treating the injured motorcyclist.
The motorcycle operator was transported to Maine Medical Center with serious injuries, police said.
Authorities determined the driver of the vehicle failed to yield before turning.
The driver was issued a summons for the violation.
Rockland Police and Fire departments responded to the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
