FRAMINGHAM — Framingham police seized an illegally possessed firearm early Friday morning following an investigation into suspicious activity, authorities said.

The Framingham Police Department’s midnight shift patrol division confiscated the weapon on Sept. 1 after responding to a report of suspicious activity, according to a statement from the department.

A male suspect found in possession of the firearm was charged, police said.
