Cavendish man cited for unlawful trespass

CAVENDISH — A local man faces charges after allegedly entering a vehicle without permission and leaving personal items inside.

John Fernandes, 39, of Cavendish, was cited for unlawful trespass following an incident on Main Street Thursday morning, according to Vermont State Police.

Troopers from the Westminster barracks responded to a report of an unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle at approximately 8:51 a.m. on Sept. 5.

An investigation determined Fernandes had entered the vehicle without the owner’s consent and left behind personal belongings, police said.

Fernandes was issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windsor Criminal Division, at 8 a.m. on Oct. 15 to answer to the charge.

Authorities did not provide additional details about the nature of the items left in the vehicle or how Fernandes allegedly gained entry.
