ATV crash in Dunbarton leaves passenger injured, operator sought

DUNBARTON — New Hampshire Fish and Game Conservation Officers are investigating an all-terrain vehicle crash that left a female passenger injured and seeking information on the unidentified male operator.

The incident occurred Sept. 4, 2024, around 5 p.m. Tara Gardner, 46, of Weare, N.H., sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries when she was thrown from a yellow Yamaha Banshee ATV.

Gardner told officials she was a passenger on the ATV when it crashed.

She walked to Heavens Gas Station at the intersection of Route 13 and Winslow Road in Dunbarton, where she received a ride from another ATV operator.

The driver of the crashed ATV was identified only as “Anthony,” a white male.

Gardner reported he was allegedly operating the vehicle at high speed when it struck a ditch and rolled over.

Both Gardner and Anthony were reportedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

Gardner was not wearing safety gear.

Goffstown ambulance transported Gardner from Goffstown Urgent Care to Catholic Medical Center in Manchester for treatment.

Conservation Officers are working with Dunbarton Police Department and Goffstown EMS on the investigation.

They request anyone with information about the crash or Anthony’s identity to call 603-271-3361 or submit an anonymous tip via the NH Operation Game Thief app.
