Rhode Island state police make multiple arrests for forgery, false documentation, and other charges

PROVIDENCE — Two individuals were arrested Tuesday morning for forgery and counterfeiting of registration plates following separate traffic stops on Route 95, according to Rhode Island State Police.

At 9:45 a.m., troopers from the Lincoln Woods Barracks took Angel Arias Aquino, 25, of Providence into custody on charges that included forgery and counterfeiting of registration plates, and providing false documentation to public officials.

Arias Aquino was processed at the barracks before his arraignment at the Sixth Division District Court.

Shortly before 10:37 a.m., Juan Mendez, 28, also of Providence, faced a similar fate.

Mendez was arrested for forgery and counterfeiting of registration plates and was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks.

His arraignment followed at the same court.

Later that afternoon at 4:31 p.m., Marquese Santos, 23, of Pawtucket, was arrested on an affidavit and arrest warrant for multiple offenses, including reckless driving, obstructing an officer, vandalism, and disorderly conduct.

The warrant originated from the Lincoln Woods Barracks, and the arrest was the result of a barracks investigation.

Santos was processed, arraigned, and released with a future court date set at the Sixth Division District Court.
