Lewiston police investigate late-night shooting, driver’s car hit by gunfire

LEWISTON — A driver’s car was struck by gunfire while dropping off a friend on Pierce Street last night, according to the Lewiston Police Department.

The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. when a bullet penetrated the vehicle, shattering the driver’s side rear passenger window and exiting through the front passenger side window.

Police found a shell casing near 110 Pierce St. and reported initial observations of several males fleeing the scene immediately after the shooting.

The police department has released photos of the individuals believed to be involved and is actively investigating the incident.

As they work to gather more information, detectives are speaking with witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage from the surrounding area.
