Somerville man arrested for breaking and entering in Boston’s South End

BOSTON — A 44-year-old Somerville man was arrested early Tuesday morning on breaking and entering charges in Boston’s South End neighborhood.

At approximately 1:00 a.m. on Sept. 3, 2024, officers from the Boston Police Department’s District D-4 responded to a report of a breaking and entering in progress at 28 Worcester Square.

Upon arrival, police observed a male suspect fleeing the area.

Officers apprehended the suspect, identified as John Mucci, near the intersection of Worcester Square and Harrison Avenue.

According to police, Mucci had entered the building but became trapped between the first and second set of doors.

He then allegedly forced his way back outside, shattering a window pane in the process.

Mucci was charged with breaking and entering nighttime for a felony.

He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.

The incident remains under investigation by the Boston Police Department.
