Rhode Island state police make multiple arrests over holiday weekend

PROVIDENCE — Rhode Island State Police made several arrests over the Labor Day weekend, including for driving under the influence and outstanding warrants.

On Monday at 10:12 a.m., troopers arrested Rafael Calderon, 44, of Providence, on a bench warrant for failing to appear in court on a suspended license charge.

The arrest occurred during a traffic stop on Elmwood Avenue in Providence.

Christopher L. Forbes, 28, of North Smithfield, was arrested Tuesday at 12:07 a.m. for driving under the influence and refusing a chemical test following a crash on Route 95 in Providence.

At 2:11 a.m. Tuesday, Bryan P. Angeles, 27, of Providence, was arrested on a domestic body attachment warrant after a traffic stop in Pawtucket.

Marc D. Theroux, 60, of Providence, was arrested at 5:05 a.m. Tuesday for possession of a controlled substance.

Calderon and Angeles were transferred to the Adult Correctional Institution.

Forbes was arraigned and released pending a future court date.

The arrests were made by troopers from the Lincoln Woods Barracks.
