Motorcyclist killed in crash on Route 16 in Dover

DOVER — A 44-year-old Exeter man died Monday in a motorcycle crash on Route 16 Southbound in Dover, New Hampshire State Police said.

Jason Emerzian was pronounced dead at the scene after losing control of his 2013 Harley Davidson and striking the center median guardrail at approximately 12:48 p.m. on Sept. 2, 2024.

Emerzian was not wearing a helmet, according to police.

A passenger on the motorcycle was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

After the initial crash, Emerzian was struck by another passing vehicle, police said.

The southbound lanes of Route 16 were closed for about an hour as troopers investigated the scene.

The New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is assisting with the investigation.

Dover Police Department, Dover Fire Department, New Hampshire Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, New Hampshire Department of Transportation, and Eddie B’s Towing and Recovery Service also responded to the scene.
