HOOKSETT — A Hooksett man was arrested for aggravated driving under the influence after multiple reports of erratic driving led police to stop his vehicle in a supermarket parking lot.
Jamie Delude, 52, was taken into custody on Sept. 2 at 11:45 a.m. after his silver Acura SUV was seen crossing into oncoming traffic and veering off the road, according to the Hooksett Police Department.
Officer Brian Roche located the vehicle on West River Road and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.
The SUV continued onto Market Drive before coming to a stop in a shopping cart corral at Market Basket.
Upon approaching the vehicle, Roche detected an odor of alcohol on Delude’s breath and observed red eyes and slurred speech, police said.
After agreeing to field sobriety tests, Delude was arrested for DUI.
At the police station, Delude consented to a breath test, which resulted in a blood alcohol concentration of 0.27, more than three times the legal limit of 0.08.
This elevated the charge to aggravated DUI.
Unable to post bail, Delude was transported to Merrimack County Jail.
He is scheduled for arraignment on Sept. 3.
