EAST BRIDGEWATER — An 18-year-old East Bridgewater man faces multiple charges including operating under the influence after allegedly crashing his car into a house Monday night while filming a video on his phone.
Jack Sullivan was arrested and charged with OUI liquor, marked lanes violation, possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, speeding, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, electronic device use while operating a motor vehicle and minor in possession of alcohol, East Bridgewater Police Chief Michael Jenkins said.
Police responded to 235 Pond St. at approximately 8:30 p.m. Monday for a report of a car that had crashed into a house.
Officers found a white sedan on the front lawn with a broken fence, tire marks across the lawn and a damaged trailer.
Sullivan was outside the vehicle when police arrived.
Officers detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from Sullivan and found two open containers of alcohol in his car, according to police.
The investigation determined Sullivan was traveling west on Pond Street at approximately 50 mph in a 30 mph zone when he lost control, crossed the double yellow line and struck the trailer, fence and house.
Sullivan was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
No other injuries were reported.
He is expected to be arraigned Tuesday in Brockton District Court.
