RANDOLPH — A 19-year-old Braintree man faces multiple charges after leading police on a high-speed chase Sunday evening in Randolph.

Deputy Brittany Lewis of the Windsor County Sheriff’s Department attempted to stop a white Kia Soul on Route 66 at approximately 7:08 p.m. Sept. 1.

The vehicle refused to stop, reaching speeds in excess of 100 mph during a brief pursuit, according to police.

Slayde Davison, 19, of Braintree, eventually stopped the vehicle before entering Randolph Village.

He was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, gross negligent operation, and attempting to elude.

The incident occurred while Deputy Lewis was on patrol as part of a Governor’s Highway Safety Program grant, administered by the Vermont State Highway Safety Office.

The Vermont State Highway Safety Office, funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, works to reduce traffic-related injuries, deaths, and economic losses.

It collaborates with law enforcement agencies to promote road safety, including efforts to combat impaired driving and increase seat belt use.
