GOFFSTOWN — Two minors were injured in an all-terrain vehicle crash on private property in Goffstown on Aug. 31, prompting a response from New Hampshire Fish and Game Conservation Officers.
The accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. off of Portage Road, where the minors were riding an ATV down a gravel slope.
The operator, inexperienced according to the preliminary investigation, lost control which led to the vehicle rolling over.
Conservation Officers arrived at the scene at 7:20 p.m. and found that both minors had sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
They were wearing helmets at the time of the accident and were quickly taken to Elliot Hospital in Manchester by Goffstown Emergency Medical Services for further evaluation.
The Goffstown Police Department and EMS personnel assisted Conservation Officers at the scene.
Following the incident, New Hampshire Fish and Game issued a reminder about off-highway recreational vehicle (OHRV) safety requirements.
Operators over the age of 12 must have an OHRV safety certificate.
Those under 14 years must be accompanied by a licensed adult, and operators under 18 are not allowed to carry passengers on an ATV.
