14 arrested in DUI crackdown in New Hampshire Seacoast area

EPPING — A high-visibility saturation patrol by New Hampshire State Police and local law enforcement agencies resulted in the arrest of 14 individuals for various offenses, including multiple DUI charges.

The operation took place from the afternoon of Friday, Aug. 30, through the early morning of Saturday, Aug. 31.

State Troopers from Troop A barracks collaborated with officers from the Epping, Brentwood, and Greenland Police Departments to conduct the patrol, which was funded by the New Hampshire Office of Highway Safety and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The effort focused on major corridors in Rockingham County and parts of Route 16.

Throughout the operation, 252 motor vehicle stops were conducted, leading to 66 citations and 212 warnings for a variety of motor vehicle violations.

The arrests included Benjamin Matthews of Rye for DUI and other charges, Rachael O’Brien of Haverhill, Massachusetts for DUI of drugs, and Kevin Labelle of Manchester for aggravated DUI and multiple additional charges including reckless conduct with a deadly weapon.

Other individuals arrested faced charges ranging from operating after suspension to negligent driving.

New Hampshire State Police plan to continue similar enforcement initiatives into the fall season and are urging motorists to make safe choices.

The public is encouraged to report suspected impaired drivers by calling 911 with detailed information including location, plate number, and vehicle description.
