Two injured in US Route 7 collision in Wallingford

WALLINGFORD — Two drivers were injured in a collision at the intersection of US Route 7 and Dugway Road on Aug. 30, authorities said.

Vermont State Police reported that the accident occurred around 9:57 a.m. when Paul Pearce, 76, of Danby, attempted to make a left turn onto Dugway Road in his 2024 Honda Ridgeline.

At the same time, Christopher Dixon, 51, of Mt Tabor, was driving his 2003 Jeep Wrangler southbound on US Route 7.

The two vehicles collided in the southbound lane, causing substantial front-end damage to Pearce’s Ridgeline and front-end damage to Dixon’s Wrangler.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

Wallingford Rescue and Regional Ambulance Service transported Pearce and Dixon to Rutland Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

The weather was clear, and road conditions were dry at the time of the collision.

The Vermont State Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
