Rhode Island troopers arrest two in separate incidents for trespassing, DUI charges

PROVIDENCE — Troopers from the Scituate Barracks arrested two individuals in separate incidents involving failure to appear for a trespassing charge and a DUI offense.

At 12:04 p.m., Troopers detained 18-year-old Briston Wise for an active 6th District Court Bench Warrant due to his failure to appear for a pretrial conference on the original charge of Willful Trespassing, as well as an additional 6th District Court Bench Warrant.

The arrest occurred after Troopers encountered Wise walking along Route 6 East.

He was subsequently transported to State Police Headquarters, processed, and turned over to the Adult Correctional Facility – Men’s Intake.

In a separate incident at 2:19 a.m., Anibal Monroy Maldonado, 22, of 23 Arlington Ave, Cranston, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence – 1st Offense with a BAC unknown and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.

The arrest was made following a motor vehicle stop on Garfield Ave in Cranston.

Monroy Maldonado was taken to State Police Headquarters, processed, and after arraignment by a Justice of Peace, was released to a responsible adult.
