Pursuit ends in crash in Exeter, sex offender arrested on multiple charges

EXETER — A high-speed pursuit ended in a crash Friday night after State Troopers tried to stop a vehicle driving erratically and pursued it across local roads.

At around 8:50 p.m., Troopers from Troop A joined the Auburn Police Department in the chase that began on Route 101 East in Auburn.

The fleeing vehicle, attempting to evade spike strips near Route 111 and Pickpocket Road in Exeter, collided with a car stopped at the roadside.

The driver of the stopped vehicle sustained minor injuries and was released after treatment at Exeter Hospital.

Kevin Labelle, 32, of Manchester, the driver of the fleeing vehicle, also suffered minor injuries and was taken to Exeter Hospital.

Labelle, who is on parole and a registered sex offender, was arrested following the incident.

An adult passenger in Labelle’s car received treatment for minor injuries at Portsmouth Hospital.

Labelle has been charged with multiple offenses, including the felonies of Reckless Conduct, Criminal Mischief, Criminal Restraint, and Driving as a Habitual Offender.

He also faces misdemeanor charges such as DWI – 3rd offense, Aggravated DWI, Conduct After an Accident, Driving Without Proof, and Driving After Suspension for DWI.

Following the charges, Labelle’s parole was revoked, and he was held at the Rockingham County Jail.

The operation involved assistance from the Auburn Police Department, Exeter Police Department, Exeter Fire Department, and Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office.
