VEAZIE — Police are seeking information about a man suspected of breaking into vehicles in a residential area late Monday night.
At approximately 10 p.m. on Oct. 16, a witness reported seeing a man entering driveways and accessing unlocked vehicles on Chickadee Lane, according to the Veazie Police Department.
The suspect, described as wearing a light gray sweatshirt and blue jeans, fled on foot when confronted by the witness.
Responding officers were unable to locate him.
It is unclear if any items were stolen during the incident.
Police are conducting a neighborhood canvass to identify additional witnesses and are collecting security camera footage from the area.
Authorities urge residents to check their vehicles and report any suspicious activity or potential thefts to the non-emergency dispatch at 207-945-4636.
The Veazie Police Department praised the witness for promptly reporting the incident, stating it increases the chances of holding individuals accountable for their actions.
