Maine state police investigate Unity raceway incident

UNITY — A Unity man faces charges after allegedly threatening another man with a gun at Unity Raceway on Thursday afternoon.

Joshua Littlefield, 30, was arrested and charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon following the incident, which occurred around 4:12 p.m., according to Maine State Police.

Authorities said a man called police reporting he had been approached and threatened by an armed individual at the raceway.

The caller identified the suspect as Littlefield and provided descriptions of both the suspect and the firearm.

Troopers from the Central Field Troop and Troop I responded to Littlefield’s residence, along with the Maine State Police Tactical Team and Crisis Negotiation Team.

Littlefield was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

Upon release, he will be taken to Waldo County Jail, police said.

The investigation remains active.
