CONCORD — A four-vehicle collision on US Route 2 near Woodward Road Thursday morning left one driver with minor injuries and briefly shut down the highway, state police said.

The crash occurred at approximately 7:28 a.m. when Brittany Descoteaux, 33, of Concord, failed to notice stopped traffic ahead due to construction and rear-ended a vehicle driven by Gary George, 29, also of Concord, according to Vermont State Police.

Descoteaux’s 2018 Dodge Caravan then veered into the eastbound lane, striking a 2022 Ford F600 driven by Edward Brinkerhoff, 39, of Barre City, before re-entering the westbound lane and hitting a 2024 Kia Seltos operated by Jakob Belanger, 26, of Clearwater, Fla.

Descoteaux was transported to Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital with suspected minor injuries.

No other injuries were reported.

State police said Descoteaux was issued a ticket for following too closely.

The crash remains under investigation.

Troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks responded to the scene, assisted by CALEX Ambulance Service and the Concord Fire Department.
