ROYALTON — An elderly man was found safe late Thursday night after a multi-agency search effort in Royalton.
Christian Wolff, 91, of Royalton, was reported missing at 7:01 p.m. on Aug. 29 after he failed to return from a walk with his dog.
Family members had been searching for Wolff since around 4:30 p.m. when the dog returned home without him at approximately 5:30 p.m.
Vermont State Police Search and Rescue coordinated a joint response that included New England K9, Upper Valley Wilderness Response Team, and fire departments from Royalton, Bethel, Tunbridge, and Barnard.
Wolff was located and safely assisted out of the woods at approximately 11:06 p.m. by members of the search team.
The incident began on Nash Road in Royalton, where Wolff had set out for his walk earlier in the day.
No further details about Wolff’s condition or the circumstances of his disappearance were immediately available.
