WEATHERSFIELD — A local woman was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon for allegedly violating the conditions of her court-ordered release, authorities said.
Aleigha Sykes, 31, was observed driving on Vermont Route 106 near Perkinsville around 2:15 p.m., a violation of her mandated home confinement except during specified times, according to the Weathersfield Police Department.
Despite initial efforts to locate Sykes’ vehicle proving unsuccessful, officers later found her at the old Perkinsville School.
She was arrested at 3:38 p.m. without incident.
Sykes was processed at the Springfield Police Department and received a citation to appear in the Windsor Criminal Division court on Aug. 29.
She was released following the booking process.
The enforcement action involved multiple officers, including Officer Franchi, Trooper Alibozek from the Vermont State Police, and Corporal Perkins from the Springfield Police Department.
