SHAFTSBURY — A firearm was found along the northbound side of US Route 7 near Mile Marker 15.8 on Aug. 28 at approximately 5:04 p.m., the Vermont State Police reported.
The located weapon, a black Sig Sauer P365 9mm pistol, currently has no identified owner.
Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in this matter.
Anyone with information regarding the pistol’s ownership is encouraged to contact the Shaftsbury Barracks at 802-442-5421 Ext. 8.
The Vermont State Police have not released further details about the incident.
The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
