WATERBURY — After responding to reports of gunfire on Aug. 25, Waterbury police have issued an arrest warrant for a suspect involved in a shooting at Bunker Hill / Schofield Park.
At around 6:05 p.m., officers arrived at 283 Bunker Hill Avenue to find a 22-year-old male with gunshot wounds.
The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was quickly transported to a local hospital, where he was treated and released.
He is now recovering from his injuries.
Investigators from the Waterbury Police Criminal Investigation Division have determined that the shooting stemmed from a personal dispute between the victim and the suspect, following a basketball game in the park.
Police have identified the suspect as Rahim Williams, a 34-year-old Waterbury resident.
Williams is charged with Assault 1st With A Firearm.
Authorities believe he may have fled the area and are working with other law enforcement agencies to track him down.
The Waterbury Police Department is asking for the community’s help in locating Williams.
