WARWICK — The Warwick Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a motorcycle and its operator following a dangerous incident during a funeral procession on Aug. 23.

At around 10:30 a.m., a motorcycle operator recklessly cut off and weaved through multiple family vehicles that were part of a funeral escort for a deceased veteran.

The procession was en route to the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.

According to the police, the motorcyclist then deliberately drove close to a motor officer leading the escort, nearly causing a collision, before speeding away.

The motorcycle, a blue Yamaha R1 with a Toce exhaust, was not pursued due to safety concerns and was observed without a license plate.

The Warwick Police Department has released updated photos of the motorcycle and the operator, who was dressed in all-black riding gear and orange riding gloves, and was seen at the Seasons Market Shell Station at 2025 Post Rd on the day of the incident.

The operator remained helmeted and did not enter the store or conduct any transactions.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the motorcycle or the individual involved to email Detective Nicholas DiNardo at [email protected] or call the Warwick Police Department at 401-468-4200.

The department assures that all tips will be kept confidential.
