Two juveniles arrested in connection with Dorchester shooting

BOSTON — Two juvenile males have been arrested following a shooting incident in Dorchester that left five people injured, the Boston Police Department announced Tuesday.

The first arrest occurred at around 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27, when members of the Youth Violence Strike Force apprehended a 17-year-old male in Norwood.

The suspect was wanted on a warrant for multiple firearm-related charges, including carrying a firearm without a license and assault and battery with a firearm.

The arrest took place at 4 Olde Derby Road, where an apartment was secured pending a search warrant.

At the time of his arrest, the juvenile was expected to be arraigned in Dorchester Juvenile Court.

During the execution of a search warrant at the Norwood location, detectives from District B-3 (Mattapan) recovered a firearm with a Glock 43X upper and a Polymer 80 lower, as well as two fully loaded magazines.

Additional firearm charges are anticipated as a result of the findings.

The second arrest was made at approximately 12:57 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, when officers from District B-3 took a 17-year-old male into custody on firearm charges near Castlegate Road.

Upon further investigation, detectives identified this juvenile as one of the suspects involved in the July shooting.

He faces similar charges to the first suspect and has been arraigned in Dorchester Juvenile Court.

The original shooting took place at about 9:48 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, when officers responded to reports of multiple people shot at 10 Greenwood Street.

Five victims were found with gunshot wounds and were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
