AUBURN — A late-night traffic crash on Center Street involving a stolen truck ended with a rollover, downed power lines, and a secondary collision, authorities said Wednesday.

The Auburn Police and Fire Departments responded to the incident near 930 Center Street at approximately 10:14 p.m. Tuesday night.

Upon arrival, they discovered a single-vehicle rollover crash that had knocked down a utility pole and power lines, blocking all travel lanes.

The driver of the overturned Ford F350 utility truck, identified as 32-year-old transient Ryan Buckingham, was transported to the Central Maine Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The truck was later confirmed to be stolen.

A second vehicle, a 2016 Subaru Outback driven by Ronald Theriault, 63, of Rumford, was caught in the downed lines but not involved in the rollover.

Theriault did not sustain any injuries.

During the initial response, a subsequent crash occurred at the intersection of Center and Colby streets.

Keagan Richardson, 22, from Turner, hit an Auburn Public Works vehicle that was blocking the road.

Richardson was charged with Driving to Endanger, though no injuries were reported from this secondary accident.

Authorities are continuing the investigation and plan to charge Buckingham with multiple offenses, including Driving to Endanger and Aggravated Criminal Mischief.

The Androscoggin Sheriff’s Office is handling the stolen vehicle charges.

Center Street was cleared and reopened to traffic the following morning at 9:00 a.m.
