St. Albans woman dies after motorcycle crash at Fisher Pond Road

SAINT ALBANS — A 60-year-old Essex woman died Monday night following a motorcycle accident at the intersection of Fisher Pond Road and Congress Street.

Joann Hammond was operating a three-wheeled motorcycle when she lost control and was ejected from the vehicle, authorities said.

The St. Albans Police Department received the call at 9:15 p.m. and responded to the scene alongside Vermont State Police, Vermont Fish and Game, AMCARE, and St. Albans Town Fire.

Hammond was transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.

The St. Albans Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward.
