SPRINGFIELD — A local man was cited for burglary after allegedly breaking into the Moose Lodge on South St., police reported Tuesday.

Springfield Police Department responded to a burglary alarm at the lodge around 4:06 a.m. on Aug. 13.

Officers identified Stephen Loewe as the suspect, who they say forced entry by pushing in a window unit air conditioner and stole money before fleeing.

Loewe was apprehended on another crime and has been issued a criminal citation to appear in the Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, Windsor Unit, on Oct. 1 at 8 a.m.

Cpl. Perkins, the investigating officer, noted that issues of bail and incarceration are determined by the judicial system, not the police department.
