Saxtons River man arrested for burglary

SAXTONS RIVER — A Bellows Falls man was arrested and charged with burglary after allegedly breaking into a Main Street home in Saxtons River.

Vermont State Police responded to a call on Aug. 25 at 2:09 p.m. from a concerned citizen who noticed a broken window at the residence of Harold and Carol Buckner, ages 77 and 80, from Poughkeepsie, New York.

Upon inspection, the citizen encountered David Hill, 44, inside the home.

Hill identified himself and was instructed to leave the premises.

The subsequent investigation by the Vermont State Police, with assistance from the Bellows Falls Police Department, led to Hill’s arrest on Aug. 26.

He was apprehended without incident and processed at the Westminster Barracks.

Hill was cited to appear in Vermont Superior Court Windham Criminal Division on Aug. 27 at 12:30 p.m.

He is currently being held at Southern State Correctional Facility after being unable to post the $5000 bail.
