Derry fire crews battle townhouse blaze, no injuries reported

DERRY — At approximately 1:35 a.m., Derry Fire Emergency Communications Division received a 911 call about a porch fire at 5 Tsienneto Road, Unit 28, which had spread into the building’s structure.

Telecommunicators quickly dispatched multiple units, including Car 1, Engines 1, 2, and 3, Ladder 4, Medic 1, and the Fire Marshal (K1).

Additional support was requested, bringing resources from Londonderry, Salem, Auburn, Hampstead, and Windham.

The property, a 1,507 square-foot townhouse, is part of a connected row of homes.

Derry Police observed smoke emanating from Units 27 and 28, leading to an upgrade of the situation to a 2nd Alarm Building Fire.

Firefighting teams arriving at the scene confirmed the presence of smoke and fire in both units, prompting further escalations.

Additional resources were drawn from Derry’s Chiefs and neighboring departments, including Manchester, Hudson, Pelham, and Plastow.

Eversource and the Derry CERT were also present to provide support.

By 3:00 a.m., the fire was under control.

Throughout the operation, coverage from Nashua, Danville, Auburn, and Atkinson Fire Departments ensured uninterrupted service to the community.

There were no reported injuries among civilians or firefighters.

The Red Cross is assisting two adults and one dog displaced by the incident.

The Derry Fire Marshal is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
